Is Gen Z Lazy or Do They Have Their Priorities in Order?

Is Gen Z lazy or do they have their priorities in order? There seems to be some debate over that topic judging from the comments I got on my latest column for the Globe and Mail(read it here)
The column cited a recent study from Glassdoor showing that many Gen Z workers are not that interested in the career ladder and instead seem more interested in the career lily pad. These workers are looking at the path to the corner office with skepticism, which makes sense given that the economy is shifting, job security is in question and work-life balance is a struggle. Under the circumstances, taking on traditional management roles may not necessarily to be the best path forward for them or even for the broader economy.
It will be interesting to see whether this ends up being the age of the career lily pad, maybe for all generations.
