Episode 155: Should You Hire Job Hoppers?

In this episode of Work and the Future, economist and keynote speaker Linda Nazareth talks to F. Scott Bentley, Assistant Professor of Human Resources at Rutgers University.

They discuss:

  • Why job hopping is sometimes looked at as a red flag by hiring managers – and why that might be valid
  • What a large-scale study of hedge fund managers reveals about job hopping and why job hoppers might bring important strengths to organizations
  • Why an organization’s culture is an important element of whether new workers can integrate quickly
  • What organizations can learn from job hoppers about on-boarding workers quickly, and why that matters
