Are You a Twister or a Sticker? (Check your paystub if you’re not sure)

The Bank of England seems to be asking the hard questions about future of work…they have done some cool research. I was particularly taken by a speech that Deputy Governor Andy Haldane gave at a conference where he talked about ‘twisters’ and ‘stickers’ – people who change jobs a lot and people who stay in one place. Traditionally, people have been stickers (when I recently asked an audience of managers in the machinery distribution sector to categorize themselves one way or another, all hands went up for that one) but more and more you apparently have to be a twister if you want a decent raise.
